How much does managed IT cost in BC?
One flat monthly fee, agreed in writing.
Managed IT from JFI is priced as one flat monthly fee, sized to how many people and devices we look after and agreed in writing before we start. Projects are quoted separately, and custom software gets a fixed price for version one. Here’s how it works.
No hourly meter running in the background.
Hourly IT support makes every call a small purchasing decision, so problems get left until they’re big. A flat monthly fee means your people call when something is wrong, and it’s in our interest to fix the cause so it doesn’t come back.
The fee is sized to how many people and devices we look after, agreed in writing before we start, and doesn’t change from month to month unless your headcount or setup does.

A summary every quarter
One page on what broke, what we fixed and why, and what needs a decision.
If something you ask for falls outside this list, we’ll say so before doing the work.
What isn’t in the monthly fee.
Bigger pieces of work are planned and quoted on their own, so the monthly fee stays predictable and you approve each project before it starts.
Planned and quoted
Each gets a written scope and a price before any work begins.
- Migrations to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Network cabling, racks and office moves
- New servers, firewalls or Wi-Fi
- Custom software, AI tools and integrations
- Security reviews and insurance questionnaires
Bought with your approval
Things you own or subscribe to, recommended and bought with your approval.
- Laptops, workstations and other hardware
- Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licences
- Software subscriptions and line-of-business apps
- Internet and phone service
Typical monthly ranges.
Ranges, not a quote. Your fee is agreed in writing after a consult, once we know what you have.
| Plan basis | What it suits | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| Per user, per month | Offices where each person has a laptop, email and the usual software. Covers the person and their devices. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| Per device, per month | Shared workstations, front desks, shop-floor PCs and servers that aren’t tied to one person. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
All prices in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes.
Why two ten-person offices can pay different amounts.
- People and devices. The biggest factor. More people and more machines mean more accounts, more updates and more calls.
- Sites. One office is simpler than three, especially when the others need on-site visits.
- Servers and on-site equipment. Everything in the cloud costs less to look after than a server in a back room.
- Security and compliance needs. Clinics, legal and finance offices, and businesses with cyber insurance often need more in place and more evidence of it.
- Where you’re starting from. A documented, up-to-date setup is quicker to take on than one nobody has written down. That mostly affects how much work the first few weeks take.
The quickest way to a real number is a consult: a short call about your setup, followed by a written fee.
A fixed price for version one.
What it will do, what it won’t, what it runs on and what it costs, agreed before work starts. The price doesn’t move unless the scope does. You own the code and the data.
| Project type | Example | Fixed price for v1 |
|---|---|---|
| Small automation | A report that builds itself, a form that files its answers in the right place, an email digest. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| Integration | Your CRM, accounting or scheduling tool talking to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| Dashboard | The numbers you check every week, pulled from the systems they live in, on one screen. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| AI assistant | An assistant that answers from your own documents and policies, or drafts and sorts email. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| Full app | An internal tool or client portal with its own logins and database, usually delivered in stages. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
| Hosting & support (monthly) | Optional. Hosting, updates and small changes after launch. | TODO(jake): $__–$__ |
Ranges for a first version. Larger apps are usually split into stages, each with its own fixed price. More on custom solutions and our work.
