How I handle your information
JFI Consulting Corp is a small business run by Jake Nowyj in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia. This page explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
What I collect
- Forms. When you send a request through a form on this site, I receive what you type: usually your name, company, email, phone number, location and notes about your IT or project.
- Bookings. When you book a free IT assessment, Google Calendar collects your name, email and anything you add to the booking so the meeting can be scheduled.
- Calls and email. If you phone or email me, I keep the details you share so I can follow up.
- Technical data. Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages log basic request data (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
This site doesn’t use advertising trackers or sell information to anyone.
Why I use it
Only to respond to you: to answer your question, prepare a quote, schedule and hold a call, and, if we work together, to deliver and invoice that work. I won’t add you to a mailing list without asking.
Services that handle it for me
A few providers process information on my behalf. Some store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers form submissions to my inbox.
- Google (Google Calendar and Gmail / Google Workspace) handles bookings and email.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don’t become work are deleted within 24 months. For clients, I keep records as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax and legal record-keeping requirements.
Your choices
Under Canada’s PIPEDA and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask me to delete it where the law allows. Email jake@jficonsultingcorp.com and I’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
I protect the information I hold with reasonable safeguards, including multi-factor authentication on the accounts that store it.
